All Court & Tribunal Proceedings
In the province of Alberta, there are three courts administered: The Court of Appeal of Alberta; The Courts of Queen’s Bench of Alberta; and the Provincial Court of Alberta. There do exist some however, like the Federal Court of Canada, the Tax Court of Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada and other courts that administer laws in Alberta.
Tribunals run parallel to the court system and are set up to make decisions on disputes, but appear less formal, less expensive and faster than the traditional court system. Additionally, adjudicators, tribunal members who make decisions on matters, usually have specific knowledge about the topic they are asked to consider while judges are expected to have general knowledge about many areas of law. Whether your matter is heard before the courts or a tribunal, YYC Lawyers will get through that process with ease.
